"The best way to connect with the community is through committed participation and involvement."
Adrian Delgado, President of MDYD
The MDYD participated in a beach clean up with Int. SeaKeepers Society. We spent the morning along the bay picking up plastic, paper, and glass. It was a valuable lesson in understanding the impact of negligence to our environment, right here at home. We were happy to contribute in collecting a total of 103lbs in four short hours.
The newly elected leadership team dropped off more than 100 toy donations to the Miami Rescue Mission. The Miami Rescue Mission collected over 6,000 donations in total for the holidays. Participating in this project is just the beginning of our continued commitment to community service.
The Miami-Dade Young Democrats convened for General Elections on November 18th at Three & No. 3 Social rooftop bar, in Wynwood. Diaundrea Sherril finished her second term as President of MDYD and decided not to run for re-election. Newly elected President Adrian Delgado addressed the General Body with a vision for the next era of MDYD: “There is a great need for MDYD to re-invigorate its mandate to the Miami-Dade community. We must work hard to prevent what happened in the 2020 local and state elections from happening again. Democrats cannot just appear once every two or four years to ask for people’s votes and then disappear. I assume this position with great responsibility and I am committed to lengthen the horizons of possibility that this organization is capable of.”
